2022 ASTRA Sparkling Riesling Brut – Charmat Method

Introducing Riverviews’ premier sparkling wine. 100% estate Riesling was picked early for freshness, fermented and aged in stainless steel on lees for 12 months before transferring to a pressure tank for carbonation via the Charmat Method. Additional yeast and sugar are added for a secondary fermentation in this pressure tank followed by an additional month of lees aging. Astra was bottled leaving 9g/L of residual sugar.

Lemon, lime, mineral, apple and a light toastiness mingle in the glass followed by a refreshing bite of acidity, dry with a fine mousse of bubbles.

Serve with anything, especially oysters and other fresh shellfish.
